Appointment prep
Arrive ready. Sign smoothly.
Most notary appointment delays come from missing ID, absent signers, already-signed documents, witness confusion, or unclear document instructions. These checklists help avoid that.
A prepared signer saves time and helps protect the notarization from avoidable mistakes.
Before Any Appointment Use this list whether Stephanie is meeting you in person or helping with an eligible online session.
Identity Bring valid, current government-issued identification. Make sure the name reasonably matches the document. Ask ahead if ID is expired, damaged, or unavailable.
Document status Do not sign before the appointment unless instructed by the document issuer. Bring every page, including instructions and attachments. Know which notarial certificate is requested, if the document gives options.
Signer readiness Every signer must be present and willing. Signers must understand what they are signing. Language, capacity, or coercion concerns should be addressed before scheduling.
Mobile Visit Notes Share parking, gate, building, or room instructions. Confirm whether the location allows outside notary appointments. Have a clean signing surface and enough lighting. Coordinate witnesses if the document requires them.
Online Session Notes Use a camera-enabled device with stable internet. Prepare email access and any platform login steps. Choose a private, well-lit space. Confirm the receiving party accepts online notarization.
Documents To Mention When Booking Stephanie does not need private details in the first message, but the document category helps with planning.
Power of attorney Tell Stephanie if witnesses are listed and whether every signer can appear together.
Affidavit Bring the document unsigned and be prepared to swear or affirm the contents if required.
Permission form Share whether the receiving party has specific wording or identification requirements.
Business paperwork Confirm signer title, company authority, and whether a corporate seal or attachment is involved.
